Abstract

Domestic violence against women remains a pressing societal concern in Vietnam, especially in the midland and mountainous regions of the northern provinces. This study analyzes the current situation and identifies key challenges in preventing and responding to domestic violence in these areas. The findings emphasize that protecting women’s rights requires not only governmental responsibility but also active engagement from individuals, families, and social organizations. Early detection and timely intervention by family members are crucial in limiting and addressing harmful behaviors. In addition, international integration—through cooperation and support from global organizations—plays an important role in objectively identifying limitations and contributing to policy development and legal reforms. These combined efforts are essential for strengthening the effectiveness of domestic-violence prevention measures and promoting gender equality in the current context.
