Abstract

Pronunciation is a skill which defi nitely plays an important part in learning a language. However, it is an undeniable fact that in the process of learning English, mispronunciation is now an obstacle for learners in general and English majored students at Hạ Long University in particular. A lot of students hesitate to speak English and fi nd it diffi cult to practice listening skill because of mispronouncing. The article shows key issues in English pronunciation, and prevalent errors in English pronunciation observed among fi rst-year English majored students at Ha Long university and proposes solutions to address these challenges.
