Abstract
In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Vietnam’s national digital transformation, social work education in Vietnam is facing an urgent need for comprehensive reform to meet the demands for human resources in a modern social environment. This article analyzes the current state of social work education at higher education institutions, with particular emphasis on the gap between traditional training content and the digital competencies required of social work professionals in the new era. By examining achievements, existing limitations, and practical challenges, the study proposes a comprehensive set of solutions, including curriculum reform to integrate digital skills, the development of a digital practice ecosystem, enhancement of lecturers’ digital pedagogical competencies, and greater emphasis on digital ethics in conjunction with information security.
