Abstract
In the context of rapid global digital transformation, education and training have been identified as one of the top priority sectors in Vietnam. At the college and university levels, equipping students with digital competence has become essential for ensuring educational quality and meeting the demands of society and the labor market. Particularly in the study of political theory subjects, digital competence not only enables students to access knowledge quickly and effectively but also contributes to the development of critical thinking and the ability to identify and refute misinformation in cyberspace. This article clarifies the concept of digital competence, analyzes the current state of students’ digital competence, emphasizes the guiding role of lecturers, and proposes specific groups of solutions to enhance students’ digital competence in learning political theory subjects. In doing so, it contributes to fostering a young generation equipped with knowledge, political steadfastness, and social responsibility.
