Abstract

In recent years, numerous incidents involving children being inadvertently left inside school buses or other vehicles have been reported, some of which have resulted in serious or even fatal consequences. These incidents are primarily attributed to human error and the absence of effective monitoring and early-warning mechanisms. This situation highlights the need for technological solutions capable of detecting potentially dangerous situations, issuing timely alerts, and supporting the supervision of children during transportation. In this context, the application of Internet of Things (IoT) technology to in-vehicle child monitoring systems represents a practical and promising approach. Such systems can enhance real-time monitoring and warning capabilities, thereby helping reduce the risk of children being left unattended and improve safety in student transportation.
