Abstract
This study surveyed 278 parents in Ho Chi Minh City to examine their awareness of anxiety disorders among high school students. The findings indicate that parents had relatively high levels of awareness of the concept of anxiety disorders, associated risk factors, and support measures. However, their understanding of other general aspects and attitudes toward stigma was more limited. Significant differences in parental awareness were found according to income, occupation, and educational level across several dimensions. Parents mainly obtained information about anxiety disorders from easily accessible sources, particularly the Internet and informal social networks, while professional sources were used less frequently. The findings highlight the need to improve parental mental health literacy and access to reliable professional information.
