Abstract
Based on research conducted in 2023, this article examines young people’s perceptions of their mental health problems and their needs for access to mental health counseling and support services. The findings indicate that many young people perceive themselves as experiencing mental health difficulties, particularly anxiety, stress, and behavioral problems. These difficulties are associated with academic and occupational pressures, unhealthy daily routines, excessive use of electronic devices, and conflicts with friends or family members. Young people expressed a need for information about counseling providers, risk behaviors, potential mental health problems, and appropriate coping strategies. They also indicated preferences concerning counseling formats and locations suited to their individual circumstances.
