Abstract
In the context of rapid globalization and digital transformation, cross-border transactions involving the sharing and processing of personal data (PD) have become increasingly common. This raises urgent demands for countries, including Vietnam, to establish a robust legal framework that both protects individual privacy and aligns with international standards. Although Vietnam has made progress especially with the issuance of Decree No. 13/2023/ND-CP on personal data protection its current legal system still requires improvement. This article analyzes the status of Vietnam’s legal framework on personal data protection in cross-border commercial transactions and proposes directions for legal reform to better meet the demands of the digital era and international integration.
