Abstract

Developing Chinese language competence aligned with professional requirements is an important goal of Chinese language education. In tourism, competence in providing tourist site commentary in Chinese enables students to apply their language knowledge, cultural understanding, and communication skills in professional contexts. This article examines the use of task-based teaching in the Chinese for Tour Guiding course at Dai Nam University to develop students’ competence in providing tourist site commentary in Chinese. Drawing on theoretical analysis and teaching practice, it proposes learning tasks linked to professional activities to enhance the effectiveness of instruction.
