Abstract
This study aimed to assess the current status of autonomy development among children aged 5–6 through play-based activities that integrate sexuality education in selected preschools. Children’s autonomy was examined through indicators such as independently choosing games, actively completing tasks, resolving simple conflicts, expressing opinions, developing self-awareness, and seeking help when necessary. The findings showed that children demonstrated varying levels of autonomy; however, many still relied on teachers’ guidance, particularly when selecting play roles without gender stereotypes and when responding to situations involving personal boundaries. Based on these findings, the study proposes several measures to improve the effectiveness of autonomy education for preschool children through play-based activities that integrate sexuality education.
