Abstract

Developing out-of-class group learning skills is a vital requirement in competency-based higher education, particularly for foundational courses like General Psychology. However, these activities are currently organized largely in a spontaneous manner without scientific guidance. This study aims to propose a systematic process developed by integrating modern learning theories with empirical survey data from 218 students at Hanoi Pedagogical University 2. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach of quantitative and qualitative research, the author proposes a six-stage process: individual preparation, group formation, task execution, exchange and collaboration, feedback and adjustment, and evaluation and development. Furthermore, the research clarifies the mechanism for developing seven component skill groups along with their implementation conditions, contributing a practical reference for organizing teaching and learning in higher education today.
