Abstract
This study examines the effects of the spaced repetition system (SRS) implemented through RemNote on the retention of English for specific purposes (ESP) vocabulary among non-English-major students at the University of Finance – Marketing. It investigates whether digital flashcards incorporating spaced repetition improve vocabulary retention compared with traditional learning methods. The findings from a mixed-methods study indicate that students using RemNote achieved higher vocabulary retention scores and retained their knowledge more effectively over time. Participants also responded positively to RemNote, particularly its structured note- taking system and automatic flashcard-generation features. Overall, integrating concept mapping with spaced repetition can effectively support ESP vocabulary learning. These findings may assist lecturers and curriculum designers in integrating educational technology more effectively into language instruction for non-English- major students.
