Abstract
Collaborative writing is becoming an effective teaching method in English courses at universities in Vietnam, as it both develops language skills and fosters soft skills for students. This paper explores three key areas: 1) The conceptual framework of collaborative writing in EFL classrooms; 2) The current situation of collaborative writing implemented at Vietnamese universities; and 3) Recommendations for promoting this activity from the perspectives of learners, teachers, and institutions. The paper asserts that collaborative writing not only enhances the quality of writing but also creates an active and interactive learning environment. Consequently, the paper contributes to proposing a modern English curriculum that supports the comprehensive development of writing and collaboration skills for students.
