Abstract

This study examines the current state of practical legal training and the development of the Legal Clinic model within application-oriented legal education at the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM). Drawing on a literature review, document analysis, and survey data from 98 respondents, including lecturers, academic administrators, students, alumni, and employer representatives, the study employs descriptive statistics to assess perceptions of practical legal training, professional skills development, and the contribution of these activities to program learning outcomes. The findings indicate that respondents generally recognize the value of practical legal training, particularly in developing professional skills. However, challenges remain in integrating practical activities into the curriculum, aligning them with program learning outcomes, and ensuring adequate resources and effective collaboration with legal practitioners and professional organizations. Based on these findings, the study proposes measures for the progressive development of the Legal Clinic model at UFM, with an emphasis on systematic organization, alignment with learning outcomes, stronger professional partnerships, and improved implementation conditions. The study offers practical implications for strengthening the connection between legal education and professional practice in Vietnamese higher education.
