Abstract

Wetlands play an important role in biodiversity conservation and environmental protection. The Ramsar Convention provides a specialized international legal framework for the conservation and wise use of wetlands. Vietnam is an early contracting party to the Ramsar Convention and has gradually incorporated its international commitments into national law. However, implementation in practice still reveals certain limitations. This article examines the implementation of the Ramsar Convention in wetland conservation in Vietnam, identifies key achievements and shortcomings, and proposes solutions to improve implementation effectiveness in the coming period.
