Abstract

To meet the needs of assessing and researching the training of reading comprehension skills for argumentative texts among 8th grade students through multiple-choice exercises, this study collects data from 26 teachers and 225 students at several secondary schools in Northern Vietnam (Thai Nguyen, Hanoi, Lang Son, Bac Giang). The study evaluates the current situation of teaching and learning argumentative text comprehension through multiple-choice exercises, aiming to identify existing limitations and suggest improvements for enhancing the effectiveness of instruction.
