Abstract

President Ho Chi Minh consistently devoted special attention to education under the new social order. In his thought, the decisive factor determining educational quality is the development of a teaching workforce characterized by strong professional ethics and exemplary character. Guided by his thought, throughout the national renewal process, the Communist Party of Vietnam has affirmed that education and training constitute a top national priority for rapid and sustainable development. Teachers play a direct and decisive role in advancing the country’s education system. This article analyzes Ho Chi Minh’s perspectives on teachers’ professional character and proposes several solutions for developing the teaching workforce in the new era in accordance with the orientations of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
