Abstract

In the context of competency-based educational reform, applying STEAM education within the Pre-school Education Program is considered a highly suitable approach. This article focuses on analyzing the theoretical foundations of STEAM education, including its concepts, characteristics, roles, and orientations for organizing activities in early childhood settings. On this basis, the paper clarifies the application of the 5E instructional model in designing and organizing educational activities, as well as the principles and procedures for implementing STEAM in practice. Furthermore, the article analyzes the role of assessment in STEAM education from a competency-development perspective. From these findings, several orientations are proposed to enhance the effectiveness of STEAM application in the Pre-school Education Program, specifically focusing on the professional capacity development of teachers.
