Abstract

Based on a 2021 survey of 1,183 farming households in Thanh Hoa, Dong Nai, and Vinh Phuc Provinces, this article examines farmers’ adoption of technologies in agricultural production. The findings show that 96.1% of surveyed households applied at least one type of technology, particularly in seed selection, crop and livestock care, and irrigation. However, the adoption of digital technologies remained limited: 19% used information technology, 7.7% used the Internet, and 5.8% used social media in agricultural production. Farmers were relatively active in adopting new tools and production methods and seeking market information before selling their products, but cooperation with scientists and enterprises remained limited. Agricultural modernization should therefore move beyond the dissemination of individual techniques toward the integrated development of farmers’ technical, digital, market, and collaborative capacities.
