Abstract

Rapid advances in science and technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), big data, cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain technology, are profoundly transforming the organization and operation of the economy. As Vietnam transitions toward a digital economy, accounting is shifting from traditional document processing, transaction recording, and information aggregation to data- and technology- driven practices. This transformation creates an urgent need for an accounting workforce with strong professional knowledge, technological competence, data analysis skills, and the ability to adapt to continuous change. This article proposes measures to develop an accounting workforce capable of meeting the demands of Vietnam’s contemporary digital economy.
