Abstract

In the current period of fundamental and comprehensive education reform in Vietnam, developing human factors is a top priority. Based on the Marxist-Leninist viewpoint that "human essence is the ensemble of social relations," this article analyzes the theoretical and practical significance of this perspective in training sports students. Through a survey of political and moral awareness among students at physical education universities, the author assesses the current situation, highlighting both strengths and existing limitations such as the tendency to prioritize athletic achievement over ideological training. Finally, this article proposes a system of solutions, including innovating teaching methods, integrating political education into athletic training, and enhancing students' self-education capacity. The study aims to contribute to building a generation of athletes and sports teachers who possess both high professional expertise and firm political-moral foundations.
