Abstract
The study surveyed 66 graduates from the Faculty of French Linguistics and Literature, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM (2016–2020) to explore the factors influencing career choice, particularly among those pursuing careers outside their field of study. The findings identified four main groups of factors affecting career decisions, with professional factors and social context playing the most significant roles. A thorough understanding of these factors can enhance the effectiveness of career orientation strategies while also supporting students in developing skills that align with the demands of the modern labor market, including the Francophone sector.
Keywords: Career choice, non-major students, Francophone labor market.
