Abstract

Digital transformation has made data a strategic resource for higher education institutions. However, data management in many Vietnamese universities remains fragmented, inconsistent, and limited in terms of interoperability and sharing. Adopting digital data standardization as a foundation for modern university governance, this paper analyzes the role of data standardization in developing digital universities, evaluates the current state of data standardization in Vietnamese higher education institutions, and identifies major challenges related to data standards, data governance, interoperability, and human resources. Based on these findings, the study proposes several recommendations to strengthen data infrastructure, enhance data-driven governance, and support the development of digital universities in the context of digital transformation.
