Abstract

Over the past four decades of Đổi Mới, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the country has achieved significant accomplishments of historic importance. Nevertheless, corruption has emerged and evolved in increasingly complex and, in some cases, serious forms, posing substantial challenges to national governance and Party building. In response to these practical challenges, the Party has renewed its thinking and awareness with the aim of containing, preventing, combating, and ultimately eliminating corruption, waste, and misconduct. Effectively combating these problems constitutes an essential component of building an ethical and civilized Party. These efforts also contribute to the development of a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy Vietnam that steadily advances toward socialism.
