Abstract
The history of the mathematical development shows that many concepts of Advanced Mathematics originate from Elementary Mathematics. However, the Advanced Mathematics Program at universities is often highly theoretical with little clear connection with Elementary Mathematics which makes students hard to recognize this connection. In addition, Mathematics plays an important role as confirmed in the 2018 general education program, which requires teachers to obtain a solid knowledge of Advanced Mathematics to be able to apply it in teaching Elementary Mathematics. This not only helps teachers to observe Elementary Mathematics from a broader perspective, but also generates creative ways of solving problems, helping students better understand the practical applications of mathematical knowledge.
