Abstract
Gender equality is one of the key indicators of a country's and a locality's level of social development and the quality of governance. In the context of Vietnam's accession to international commitments on gender equality and its intensified implementation of the National Strategy on Gender Equality for the 2021-2030 period, Da Nang City has been recognized as one of the leading localities in integrating gender perspectives into the formulation and implementation of socio-economic development policies, achieving significant progress in this area. Nevertheless, despite these achievements, a number of barriers and limitations continue to impede the effective implementation of gender equality initiatives. This article examines the current status of gender equality implementation in Da Nang City from the perspectives of sociology and feminist theory. It identifies the achievements attained, analyzes the remaining challenges, and proposes recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of gender equality implementation in the city.
