Abstract
The development of blockchain technology and crypto-assets has created numerous opportunities for the digital economy while posing new challenges to crime prevention and asset recovery. Although Vietnamese law has begun to recognize digital assets and crypto-assets, the legal mechanisms for tracing, freezing, seizing, preserving, confiscating, and recovering such assets remain incomplete. This article examines the relevant legal framework and draws on the experience of selected countries and regions. On this basis, it proposes recommendations for improving Vietnam’s legal framework and enhancing the effectiveness of crime-related crypto-asset recovery in the context of digital transformation.
