Abstract
This paper presents research findings on the relationship between family cohesion and well-being among 341 high school students in Ho Chi Minh City, while simultaneously testing the mediating roles of father-child attachment and mother-child attachment. Data were analyzed using Spearman correlation analysis, linear regression, and the Sobel test. The correlation results indicate that family cohesion has a weak positive correlation with well-being (𝜌 =0.158,p< 0.01).Linearregressionresultsdemonstratethatfamilycohesionactsasapositive predictor of well-being (β = 0.2, p = 0.000). The Sobel test confirms the mediating roles of both father-child and mother-child attachment; notably, the impact of family cohesion on well-being mediated by mother-child attachment tends to be more pronounced and stronger than that mediated by father-child attachment.
