Abstract

Amid profound global and domestic transformations, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) continues to affirm its mission as a leading institution for fundamental research while strengthening its role in providing scientific evidence for the formulation and improvement of national policies. In addition to theoretical research, VASS is increasingly integrating empirical research with social analysis and forecasting, thereby contributing to the formulation of socioeconomic development orientations. On this basis, the article proposes several development directions, including promoting applied research grounded in fundamental research, strengthening the Academy’s strategic advisory function, expanding international cooperation, developing high- quality human resources, and reforming research management mechanisms to improve the scientific quality and practical applicability of research findings.
